Juan Carlos Quintero Herencia is professor of Latin American and Caribbean literatures at the University of Maryland. A poet and critic, he engages with the Caribbean imaginal world, soundscape, and poetics, with particular attention to Puerto Rico. His forthcoming books include the poetry collection Sustracción and the essay volume Palabra al mar (§) Efecto archipiélago II.
