Eric D. Weitz is Distinguished Professor of History at The City College of New York. His book, Weimar Germany: Promise and Tragedy (2007), was named an “Editor’s Choice” in the New York Times. His current book project is “A World Divided: Nations and Human Rights from the Age of Revolution to the Present.”
