Virginie Tournay

Virginie Tournay is a research director in political studies at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), affiliated with Sciences Po Paris (CEVIPOF). Her research focuses on the governance of biotechnologies and the politics of uncertainty in digital societies. She serves on the scientific committee of the French Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology Assessment (OPECST) and has participated in several foresight and policy projects, including the Red Team Defense initiative (2020–2023) conducted by the French Ministry of the Armed Forces. In addition to her academic work, she is also engaged in science‑fiction writing.
