Jonathan Elmer is a scholar of American literature and culture and teaches at Indiana University. He has published on a wide range of authors, from Mary Shelley and Edgar Allan Poe to Richard Wright and Kurt Vonnegut, and on topics as varied as systems theory and the origin of the American cocktail. He is completing a new book, titled “Graphic and Atmospheric: What Re-Mediations of Poe Tell Us About Transmedial Aesthetics.”
