He holds a PhD in English and comparative literature from Columbia University.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nicholas Dames<\/strong>, this season\u2019s host, is an editor in chief of\u00a0<em>Public Books<\/em> and the\u00a0Theodore Kahan Professor of Humanities in the department of English and comparative literature at Columbia University.
