Monica White

Monica M. White is an assistant professor of environmental justice at the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a joint appointment in the Gaylord Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies and the Department of Community and Environmental Sociology. A former Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of African American Studies at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, she is the author of Freedom Farmers: Agricultural Resistance and the Black Freedom Movement (University of North Carolina Press, 2018).
