Jenny Davidson teaches in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University. Her most recent book is Reading Style: A Life in Sentences (2014). She is currently working on two new projects: a guide to reading Jane Austen and an account of the historian Edward Gibbon’s relationship with the city of Rome.
