Jorge E. Cuéllar is a Salvadoran-born and Los Angeles-raised scholar of Central America. He is Assistant Professor of Latin American, Latino & Caribbean Studies at Dartmouth College where he teaches courses on modern Central America, migration, race, agrarianism, and social theory. For 2022–23, he is the Faculty of Color Working Group Fellow in Latin American Studies at Tufts University where he is advancing his first book, Everyday Life and Everyday Death in El Salvador. Cuéllar writes widely on Central American issues, including on popular education, the politics of older adulthood, punitivism, media, and contemporary financialization.
