Joseph Weiss is Associate Professor of Anthropology and Science in Society at Wesleyan University. His research explores the intersections between settler colonialism, time, ecology, and Indigenous sovereignty and self-determination. Dr. Weiss is the author of Shaping the Future on Haida Gwaii: Life Beyond Settler Colonialism (UBC Press 2018), a new book tentatively entitled Irreconcilable: Indigeneity and Colonial Erasure in Contemporary Canada, and numerous articles in scholarly and public venues. He is a lifelong Godzilla fan.
