Natasha Dow Schüll is a cultural anthropologist and associate professor in the department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University. She is the author of Addiction by Design: Machine Gambling in Las Vegas (2012) and is currently working on a book about digital self-tracking, Keeping Track (forthcoming from Farrar, Straus & Giroux).
